We have been contacted recently by another club with a similar name: The Cedars Social Club. It is a non-profit organization, with a multi-committee Canadian-Lebanese group. The Cedars Social Club has no political and no religious affiliation. Members cooperate with other associations in the spirit of mutual respect and understanding. See their web site here.
The Federation is an organization which combines pure Americanism with the traditions of Syria and Lebanon: belief in God, sense of family, love of heritage, and willingness to serve each other. It is an organization which honors the memory of its illustrious ancestors and exalts the great contributions which its race has made to mankind. The Federation recognizes the diverse religious and political beliefs of its members and therefore the Federation does not promote or foster any sectarian, religious, or political movements. The pillars upon which the Federation stand are scholarship, charity, heritage, and family. (From a brochure publlished by the Southern Federation of Syrian Lebanese American Clubs.)
Guardians
of the Cedars appears
to be a political organization; their site contains many links.
