NAME:                        Dr. Merrill K. King
JOB TITLE:                 Enterprise Scientist
                                    Microgravity Combustion Science Program                                                          NASA Headquarters

POSITION SCOPE:     Program Scientist for Microgravity Combustion Science                                               Program at NASA Headquarters.  Tasks include                                     development of NASA Research Announcements (NRAs) in                                        the Microgravity Combustion area and running of the review                                     process for selection of investigators in response to these                                                   announcements.  Also involved in monitoring of ongoing                                           programs and conduct of reviews of flight definition programs                                            as they progress to flight.  Conduct review of proposals for
                                    Shuttle and ISS Glovebox investigations.  Supply inputs to upper
                                    management and congressional oversight regarding content and
                                    direction of program.  Serve as liaison in combustion area with
                                    other US government agencies and with foreign agencies.

EDUCATION:              BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from                                      Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1960, 1962, and 1965.
