Mechanical Engineering Division

American Society for Engineering Education

The goal of this division is the advancement of education in all of its functions which pertain to mechanical engineering, including the processes and teaching and learning, research, professional interactions, extension services, and public relations.

The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) is a nonprofit organization of individuals, institutions, and companies dedicated to improving all aspects of engineering education.

The Mechanical Engineering Division sponsors technical and educational sessions at the Annual Summer Meeting of ASEE. The traditional M.E. Division Sessions include the following:

ME Department Heads meeting Department Head & Chairs meet to discuss issues of mutual interest
ME Division Convivium A social event; no business, awards or speakers
ME Technical Session (TIME I) Trends in Mechanical Engineering-A session at which 4 or so papers are presented
ME Technical Session (TIME II) Same as TIME I
ME Technical Session (TIME III) Same as TIME I
ME Awards Luncheon and R.C Roe Lecture The ME Division sponsors the Ralph Coates Roe Award which is given annually
ME Division Business Meeting Open to all ME Division members

The Mechanical Engineering Division also publishes a magazine entitled Mechanical Engineering News, which in the past was prepared and mailed out three times per year. The publication costs to subscribers and libraries were nominal. At this time, Mechanical Engineering News is published on the Internet, and you can reach this publication at http://www.me.memphis.edu/menews/menews.html.
