AT A GLANCE
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is a highly active and visible group in the Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis. We have many members, and sponsor a number of professional and social activities. Any mechanical engineering student should consider joining ASME and take advantage of the benefits that being a member of our society will bring.
ASME offers fun activities, sporting events, charity events, industrial trips, scholarships, financial aid, and many other opportunities to enjoy yourself as an engineering student. Each semester we have at least one party and several meetings in which we talk, eat, and perform various other social acts of fun. We also organize a basketball tournament in the fall and a volleyball tournament in the spring. Industrial trips are taken monthly to an variety of different businesses and manufacturing plants. And, finally, scholarships and financial aid are readily available for those with the willpower to apply. So, if you are interested in having fun and exploring engineering, give us a try! A small effort brings a big reward!
